trip to the South of Germany,2009

on the way

Heidelberg, the famous romantic city on the river Neckar was one of our first targets. Here we spent one night in hotel and walked though the old castle on the other site of the river and visit the old town, finaly. Even during our German winter, with deep temperatures and lots of snow, Sundari told: THIS town is always nice for jalan-jalan dan "shopping-together".

Freiburg is a city in Breisgau, Baden-Wuertemberg, Germany, on the western edge of the Black Forest. It straddles the Dreisam, on the foothills of the Schlossberg. The city is surrounded by the Black Forest Mountains; Rosskopf and Bromberg lie to the east, while Schönberg, Tuniberg, and the mountain Kaiserstuhl lie to the south and west.

at the lake Constance

Konstanz, the nice enjoyable town at lake "Bodensee". Full of hand painted houses and old, small streets. There are so many things to visit, our time was always running out. Next to the lake, we spent some nights in the comfortable "Steigenberger Inselhotel" As we told you, before, just enjoyable! We will come back, soon!

The Rhine Falls / Schaffhausen are the widest plain waterfalls in Europe. The falls are located to the town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland and close to the German border. They are 150 m wide and 23 m high. In the summer months, the average water flow is 700 m³/s.

Friedrichshafen is best known for having been home to the Zeppelin airships. Count von Zeppelin, who was born in Konstanz (Constance), originally had his airships built in a floating hangar on the lake. Visitors can learn more about the history of Zeppelin airships in the large Zeppelin Museum sited near the lakeshore in centre of the town.

in Switzerland (expensive)

Zuerich is the capital city of Switzerland. Switzerland is wellknown for its high mountains and very nice and tasty Swiss chocolade! Also the famous knifes, the RED one, are coming from here! The Bahnhofsstrasse is same like Koenigsallee in Duesseldorf. Shopping here is like walking in a dream. But - With all these superlatives, we would like to add one more: very, very EXPENSIVE !

the way back home

Fuessen is the highest town of Bavaria (808 m above sea level). The famous castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau are located near the town. The town is also familiar to travellers as the terminus of the Romanitc road. Steve McQueen´s motorcycle stunts and many other scenes in The GREAT ESCAPE were filmed in and around the town.

Wieskirchen, the romantic church nearby the small village Wies was our last target on this journey. The village is situated between Fuessen and Muenich, directly on the Romantic road. Impressing handcrafted pics are waiting for your eyes inside the small chapel.
